Youth are encouraged to invite friends to all events!

June 7 Senior High Work Day for Ichthus
Our senior high students have an opportunity to work from 8-5 on the Saturday before Ichthus in order to earn tickets for the concernt. If they students work the whole day, they will be a awarded a weekend pass for Ichthus. Meet at GCF at 7:45

July 1 Cincinnatti Reds Game
We’re going to go Cincinnati for a Reds Game! All families are invited. We’ll eat at Skyline Chili before the game. We’ll leave at 4pm in order to have enough time for travely and Skyline Chili before the game starts at 7:10. Cost will be around $8 for tickets plus additional money for Skyline Chili.

July 13 “Biblical” Mini-Golf in Lexington 6:30-9pm

July 31 King’s Island
Last year’s trip to King’s Island was a blast, so we’re going again! We’ll leave at 8am from GCF and return late. The group rate for tickets will be $30.

August 17 Pool Party at the Riney B – Cost Free

About Youth Ministry at GCF

Mission Statement
The mission of the youth ministry of Great Commission Fellowship is to help the youth of Jessamine County to become life-long, fully committed disciples of Jesus Christ. In fulfilling this mission, the youth ministry of GCF will encourage youth to be faithful to the greatest commandments (Matt. 22:37-40) and the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) by

being true to Christ,
being kind to all people,
and making disciples in all the world.

Catholic Action Center

The GCF youth group sends two teams to the Catholic Action Center each month to serve breakfast to the homeless in downtown Lexington.

The senior high youth serves on the second Sunday of each month.
The junior high youth serves on the fourth Sunday of each month.

We leave GCF at 7:45am.

Anyone is welcome to attend, so if you want to go contact one of the youth pastors.

Winter Retreat 2008

This winter we are going to Pittsburgh, PA for our retreat/mission trip. We will be going to the YWAM Pittsburgh missions base as well as Seven Springs Ski Resort. The leaders at YWAM will lead us in short-term missions training, and we will be participating in inner-city outreaches with local churches in Pittsburgh. In addition to the mission work, the youth will have an opportunity to go to Seven Spring Ski Resort for a day for skiing.

The cost of the trip is still being worked out, but we anticipate that the costs will be under $100 per youth. We will having a fundraiser to help families with the costs of the trip. Scholarships are available if necessary, just contact Jonathan.

Meetings

Sunday evenings at GCF from 6:30-8:30

Small groups meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30. We have four small groups - junior high (6th-8th grade) guys and girls and senior high (9th-12th grade) guys and girls.
